finished reading 'carnivorous enquirey' very messy ending, no wonder i blocked it from my memory, i have to say that was a strange experience. yesterday blue skies with a hint of cumulonimbus on the horizon, i was riding the bus into the city emersed in my jaded and somewhat exhausted self reflections, i set my heart on picking up the book 'winterlong' by elizabeth hand, and as i wandered from book shop to bookshop i was met by disappointment after disappointment. however in adyar (the theosophical society bookshop) i noticed they had a good selection of magickal literature including some of old Crowleys work. Once i asked them why they never stocked any Crowley and they said, 'it's because people keep stealing them.'
Well there was a few of his books in there today, plus some interesting others however this was an oasis amongst the overwhelming junk. Next stop Galaxy (the sci fi) bookshop run by geeks and freaks, i asked them if they had anything as good as 'House of Leaves' and they tried to fob me off with some second rate Steven King crap. I like getting the bus into the city, it's perfect to read a few chapters and have a stress free wander around, i enjoy looking at the crowds of workers and the tall buildings but it's always nice to come home to space and fresh air.
it's a busy weekend looking ahead, normally i don't have much on in the way of being social but this weekend is sprawling out before me like a car jammed highway.
