another evening with some dear people, evan and pop, yummy food, fantastic people and a nice warm cozy atmosphere, not like mission control where it's all freezing over with icicles and there's polar bears wandering around stealing my biscuits.
i am still experiencing the weird de ja vu thing with 'carnivorous enquiry', i am almost finished and now, certain i have read the book before, i have made a guess at the ending but it's unclear. every page i read feels like i have already read it yet the experience has been wiped from my mind. it's not a particularly good book but that's no reason to forget it.
another night of nighmares and fractured sleep, awake to a cloudy overcast day and the overwhelming urge for a coffee.
every now and then i am taken to a bout of cleaning mission control, this involved vacuuming the floors, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen and putting piles of books in new piles, i was telling evan and pop last night how for the last year i have slept in the spare room, actually this has been two years, because my own bedroom, is so filled with books that it's hard to walk through in clear passage, well today i cleared all the books out and moved them, however i still feel complelled to sleep in the spare room.
i heard syd barret died yesterday, not that i am a huge fan but i do see the genius he had, i will never forget something they spoke about in his doco. how he ended up being unable to move out from bed because he was overwhelmed with possibilities. Option paralysis. Steve Kilby made the comment, it's better to wake up every morning unable to get out of bed because there are to many options rather than none. i always thought that was an incredibly insightful comment. well coincidentaly just before i heard the news i had picked up and bought a copy of the pulse dvd.
back at mission control i made some barley and veggie soup, then had to race out for the Pan photoshoot, with fire, well the conditions were difficult, i needed all the extra light i could, two small flame bamboo torches, three hand held flashlights, a spotlight we hung from a tree, and the moon looming up over the clouds, still not enough light but i am sure in the 24 frames i have some good shots i can use. once the Pan shots are printed i need a new subject to work on, this time female.
