Grant Mclennan RIP
Last night i saw simple minds at the state theatre a front row experience and a despite looking a bit older, the band had lost none of the passion that makes me like them so much, yeah i have seen them a few times but usually in huge stadiums, tonight was more personal and intimate, jim kerr connected with every single person in the theatre, in fact he even became part of the audience and his sincerity and enthusiasm was matched by us, as we all danced in wonderment as the secrity people were overwhelmed by an audience that could not keep on their seats.
highlights - water front a song i don't actually like but live it works wonders
ghostdancing - loved the bridge in the middle, it's amazing
santify yourself - oh i did babe, it's the gospel truth
somewhere in summer time - steals your heart with that beautiful energy
hunter not the hunted - sublime
love song - sexy throbbing intense, makes ya wanna go out and fuck strangers (yeah well maybe i am slightly wierd)
oh yeah it was a good night, made even better that my old phychic abilities informed me that agent stoned was driving by as i left the state, so i rang her and there she was, just passing, so i got a lift home. we stopped at the big pub in north sydney for a drink and a quick debrief on love and the lightness of being.
