the world house by guy adams is a brilliant twisted fantasy that's dark and bewildering and somewhat funny as well. there's so many twists and turns and suddenly there's an overview which kinda puts things in an amazing perspective and the story rolls along like a steam train taking you on a mystery ride through very unfamiliar terrain. until the terrain is literally poured away. the characters are all wonderfully constructed and their predicament sympathetic.
there's a hint of everything thrown in the mix, time travel, surreal fantasy, adult literature, great characters and creatures from another dimension and central to the narrative the strange house which is a universe in itself. the writing is credible and mr.adams manages to pull it all together in excellent writing and a thrilling storyline. it's like alice in wonderland meets steven king on mescaline, can't wait for the movie.
