i saw a film on dvd, it's called 'buried' and starts in darkness. eventually a light comes on, a lighter flame illuminates a small area, and we see a man's face, he's buried in a coffin. the rest of the film is spent with him, under the ground in the coffin. we find out a little about him, a little about why he is there and we gradually hope for his rescue as we come to like the character.

this is a brave film, it's very good, a thriller, a man in a box underground, a mobile phone and a lighter as props, and a very good script. i was on the edge of my seat all the way through and the end is perfect really. the actor is brilliant 'ryan reynolds' a hollywood chap who really steps out of the comfort zone in this and made in spain by a spanish director, who uses creates a tension i have not seen in years, possibly since hitchcock. buried, wow!
