finished reading 'end game' by matthew glass an economic political thriller about the confrontation of american and chinese power as the two economies are linked like a dna strand both dependant upon one another although china could probably take the hit, america couldn't. it's not a brilliant book, but the issues it raises are very important as global financial markets are now propped up by chinese investment. two superpowers eventually will clash, both have old school war machines attempting to deal with a new financial battleground, a new approach to the problem is required, and the end game sets about establishing this but weather this 'fiction' can transcend human need to dominate remains to be seen.
it's not really a book i'd recommend and at times i wondered why i was reading it, although there's nothing inherently wrong with it, it just seemed so drawn out, like a game of chess where you give up telling one player from the other.
